"Excellence through knowledge, Achievement through Commitment"

PACIFIC WEST COLLEGE OF LAW ADA POLICY

The Americans with Disabilities (ADA) along with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act were enacted to provide a clear and comprehensive mandate for the elimination of the discrimination against individuals with disabilities. In compliance with these laws, Pacific West College of Law is dedicated to making a reasonable effort to provide accommodations for qualified student with known disabilities.

Pacific West College of Law makes a reasonable effort to provide accommodations for qualified students with known disabilities. It is the student’s responsibility to self-identify as a student with disabilities and provide medical documentation of those disabilities. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent consistent with approved accommodations.

All ADA-related accommodations for students with disabilities must relate to the specific disability of the student. As an example, a student who has use of his/her upper extremities but uses a wheelchair may not be eligible for extended time on exams. The appropriate accommodation or support will be determined by the Dean of Academics. Student privacy will be protected by a limited disclosure of any health concerns. Limited disclosure will be made to others ONLY if necessary to approve petition accommodation.

It's our philosophy that every student should have the opportunity to realize his/her greatest potential in pursuit of higher education. Students with disabilities have the same needs, interests and strengths as all individuals. One of our mission is to offer quality programs and services empowering students with disabilities to access and engage in educational activities at Pacific West.
