| STUDENT BAR ASSOCIATION. | |||||||
| The Student Bar Association is the student government. Student involvement includes social and marketing events as well as obtaining purchase specials and discounts from various merchants for the benefit of the students, including health benefits. The students also have the benefit of appropriate legal counseling from a variety of professors. These efforts and others create an esprit de corp with the student body. | |||||||
| COMMITTEE FOR JUDICIAL EQUITY. | |||||||
| The key word is equity. “In one sense, the word “equity” implies right, justice, or moral quality. Relatedly, it may mean flexibility rather than rigidity.” (Dobbs, Remedies Section 2.1 West Publishing)
Pacific West College of Law has formed the Committee for Judicial Equity that is to be an innovative interaction between the College and the administration of justice. As such the Committee cannot be constrained by rigid guidelines and must remain a flexible in its search, discovery, development and enactment of judicial matters which prior thereto were unjust or immoral. As guidelines, the Committee should direct its attention and resources to events occurring in or concerning the County of Orange. The Committee should attempt to redress those past inequities that have little or no other source of redress. The Committee should attempt to forecast, aid in the implementation and enactment of future legal issues. The Committee should be comprised of a faculty chair, with various supporting faculty members, a strong involvement of the students as well as members of the public and professional sector. |
